Applications Open for the ACT Advocacy Academy 2026

The ACT Advocacy Academy 2026 is now open for applications, inviting ACT Alliance members and partners from around the world to strengthen their advocacy skills, exchange experiences, and collaborate for greater impact.

Running from September to December 2026, the Academy is a global capacity-building programme designed to empower participants to develop and implement concrete advocacy initiatives with support from experienced practitioners and peers.

Hosted in both English and Spanish, the programme creates an inclusive learning environment where participants can engage across regions and contexts while building practical advocacy tools and strategies.

Participation in the programme is estimated to take between 40 and 60 hours in total with some more intensive periods than others. In September and early October, there will be approximately 12 hours of webinars. Optional thematic webinars as well as coaching take place between mid-October and late November. Upon completion of all required assignments and coaching session, graduation will take place in December.

  • Phase 1 - 5 compulsory core lectures
  • Phase 2A - Optional thematic lectures
  • Phase 2B - Coaching

A detailed schedule of the programme will be shared with participants upon acceptance to the programme in August 2026.

A space for learning and action

Advocacy plays a critical role in advancing justice, human rights, climate action, humanitarian response, and sustainable development. The ACT Advocacy Academy offers participants an opportunity not only to deepen their understanding of advocacy approaches, but also to turn learning into action.

Through the programme, participants will:

  • Learn from experienced advocacy practitioners
  • Exchange perspectives and knowledge with a global network
  • Develop concrete advocacy actions with expert support
  • Strengthen collaboration across ACT Alliance members and partners
The Academy also depends on the engagement of volunteer coaches and lecturers who contribute their expertise and accompany participants throughout the learning journey.
