The organisations behind the Fabo Learning Community
The Fabo Learning Community brings together 30 organisations and networks committed to strengthening civil society through learning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
Together, our members represent a unique combination of local, national, regional, and international perspectives. The community consists of:
- 9 networks and umbrella organisations, representing a combined membership of 795 civil society organisations
- 14 international non-governmental organisations (INGOs)
- 7 local and national non-governmental organisations (LNGOs)
Our members work across humanitarian action, development cooperation, human rights, democracy, peacebuilding, gender equality, climate resilience, faith-based engagement, and community empowerment.
While their missions differ, they share a common belief that learning and collaboration are essential for creating sustainable social change.

ACT Alliance Secretariat
A global coalition of 160 churches and faith-based organisations working in humanitarian assistance, development, climate justice, and advocacy.
Center for Church-based Development (CCD)
A Danish network supporting 38 church-based organisations engaged in international development, social justice, and community development.
Civil Society in Development (CISU)
Denmark's largest membership organisation for 291 civil society organisations engaged in global development cooperation, capacity strengthening, and advocacy.
Digni
A network of 17 faith-based organisations working to strengthen local civil society, promote sustainable development, and support global partnerships.
International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT)
A global network of 173 member organisations dedicated to rehabilitation for torture survivors, prevention of torture, and promotion of human rights and justice.
National Council of Churches in Kenya (NCCK)
A fellowship of 50 Christian churches in Kenya working on peacebuilding, governance, humanitarian response, social justice, and community development.
NORFORB
A Nordic forum promoting cooperation, dialogue, and learning among 14 faith-based and values-driven development organisations.
Swedish Mission Council Global (SMC)
A membership organisation supporting 29 Swedish civil society and faith-based actors in international development, human rights, and democracy initiatives.
Uganda Women's Network (UWONET)
A network of 23 women's rights organisation advancing gender equality, women's leadership, economic empowerment, and policy advocacy.

Forum for Natural Regeneration LBG (FONAR) is a Ghanaian environmental NGO working in Northern Ghana to restore degraded agricultural landscapes through community-driven approaches that improve livelihoods, enhance food security and build climate change resilience for sustainable development.
Mwangaza Light - Kenya
A women-founded and women-led social enterprise working with faith institutions to end energy poverty and accelerate climate action in Kenya.
Rural Action Community Based Organisation (RACOBAO) - Uganda
A local organisation based in Uganda supporting rural communities through livelihood development, education, agriculture, and community empowerment initiatives.

A Kenyan organisation promoting women's rights, gender justice, economic empowerment, and community development.

A youth-led organisation supporting civic participation, leadership development, education, and social inclusion among young people in Honduras.

The strength of the Fabo Learning Community lies in the diversity of its members. International organisations contribute global experience and technical expertise. Networks connect hundreds of civil society organisations and facilitate knowledge exchange. Local and national organisations bring deep contextual understanding and close connections to the communities they serve.
Together, our members create a vibrant learning community where knowledge flows across sectors, regions, and organisational boundaries. Through collaboration, reflection, and shared learning, we strengthen our collective ability to contribute to a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world.
Today, the Fabo Learning Community connects 30 member organisations and, through its networks, reaches nearly 800 additional civil society organisations. This collective ecosystem demonstrates the power of learning together and the impact that becomes possible when organisations share knowledge, experience, and ambition.
