Fabo templates to facilitate site creation
Members don't have to start from scratch
Every day across the Fabo Learning Community, people step into the role of site editor. Some are seasoned creators; others are programme staff, specialists or volunteers who simply want to share their knowledge in a meaningful way.
Becoming a “site editor” can feel exciting but it can also feel overwhelming. Where do you begin? How do you structure a learning experience that is engaging, accessible and easy to use?
The good news is: you don’t have to start from a blank page.
Fabo members have access to a collection of site templates and training templates in the Fabo Content Library, designed precisely to help you get started quickly and confidently.
Why templates matter
A template is more than a layout — it’s a head start.
Fabo templates are built from real learning experiences used across civil society organisations. They reflect what the Learning Lab knows works well: clear navigation, thoughtful structure, opportunities for interaction, and a design that supports diverse learners.
By starting with a template, site editors don’t just save time; they also inherit good practice. This means:
-
Less stress over structure : key elements are already mapped out.
-
More energy for creativity : you can focus on what matters: your content and your learners.
-
Stronger, more consistent learning experiences across our community.
Where to find them: the Fabo Content library
The Fabo Content Library is our shared space for inspiration and ready-to-use building blocks. Within it, you’ll find:
-
Site templates for full learning sites — from interactive courses to resource hubs.
-
Training templates that help you craft sessions, programmes or blended learning journeys.
-
Graphic and interactive exercices to spark ideas and show what’s possible.
Everything in the library is created with members, for members. It embodies our belief that knowledge grows when it’s shared.

Putting templates into practice
Imagine you’ve been asked to create a Code of Conduct Course. Instead of staring at an empty screen, you can open the content library, select the Code of Conduct template, and start personalising it straight away.
Or perhaps you're designing a learning hub for partners in the field. With a Hub template, you can adapt tried-and-tested structures instead of reinventing the wheel — ensuring an experience that is both effective and inclusive.
Templates don’t limit your creativity. They unlock it. They give you a strong foundation so you can build something unique, relevant and meaningful.

A community built on sharing
Fabo is a member-driven community because we believe in the power of the collective. The templates in the library are the result of organisations helping each other succeed. Each time a member contributes a new template or shares an example, they empower others to learn, create and collaborate.
Members can adapt and localise content to fit their own audiences. Our templates offer a solid starting point, while giving you the freedom to tailor language, visuals and structure to your specific context. This approach empowers members to create meaningful, culturally relevant learning experiences without having to build everything from scratch.
By using templates — and by contributing your own — you help make learning more accessible for everyone.
