Two New Members Join the Fabo Community
Fabo welcomes FONAR and HELVETAS
We are excited to announce two inspiring organisations have recently joined the Fabo Learning Community: the Forum for Natural Regeneration (FONAR) from Ghana and HELVETAS from Switzerland. Both bring unique expertise, fresh perspectives, and strong commitments to building more sustainable, just, and resilient futures.
🌱 Forum for Natural Regeneration (FONAR) – Ghana
FONAR is a Ghanaian environmental NGO working to restore degraded agricultural landscapes and improve livelihoods in the Upper East Region of Ghana. Since its founding in 2014, FONAR has become a champion of Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) – a simple, cost-effective, and sustainable approach to land restoration.
Through school eco-clubs, community regreening projects, and women’s empowerment initiatives, FONAR works hand-in-hand with farmers, children, and local leaders to regenerate landscapes, increase food security, and strengthen resilience to climate change.
They are joining the Fabo Learning Community to share their practical experience in reforestation and regeneration with their staff, partners, and the wider community – and to learn from fellow members across the globe.
We are also delighted to acknowledge the support of their sponsor, Awaken Trees (Austria), whose partnership made their membership possible.
🌍 HELVETAS – Switzerland
HELVETAS is one of Switzerland’s leading organisations for international development cooperation and humanitarian response. With operations in 35 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe, HELVETAS works to create fair opportunities for disadvantaged people and communities .
Their work covers four main areas:
