Welcoming LOKK to the Fabo Learning Community
We are delighted to welcome LOKK, the National Organisation of Women’s Shelters in Denmark as the newest member of the Fabo Learning Community.
LOKK - Denmark
LOKK is a membership and advocacy organisation representing 54 non-profit shelters across Denmark, together with their staff and affiliated volunteers. Since 1987, the organisation has worked to unite, support and strengthen shelters and their frontline efforts to help adults and children affected by domestic violence.
The LOKK secretariat provides specialist knowledge on intimate partner and domestic violence, contributes to quality development across Denmark’s shelters, and offers specialised legal counselling. It also connects shelters with policymakers and serves as a national knowledge centre for members, public authorities, professional partners and other stakeholders.
Creating opportunities across a network
As a network organisation, LOKK’s membership in Fabo opens opportunities for its secretariat and member shelters to use the platform to:
- Develop and share digital learning resources
- Strengthen knowledge exchange across the network
- Organise training, events and peer-learning activities
- Make specialist knowledge more accessible
- Learn from other organisations within the Fabo community
LOKK also brings valuable knowledge and frontline experience to our growing community. Its expertise in domestic violence, protection, specialised support and network coordination can inspire learning and exchange well beyond its own membership.
