Remote monitoring and evaluation: lessons learned and next steps

 In our sector, gathering and analysing meaningful data is a big part of our activities. Having adequate measures in place to conduct this monitoring is crucial for operational efficiency and compliance with donor demands. Throughout an intervention, partnering organisations meet to have kick-off meetings, monitoring visits, evaluation, implementation of specific activities, mutual capacity building efforts, etc. Many will say that it is when partners meet that partnerships flourish. Traditionally, we often do this type of work in person. But two years into the Covid-19 pandemic, many of our organisations are still challenged by travel restrictions and corona-related measures. There is a need to explore ways of collaborating remotely and to listen to and learn from each other’s experiences.

Four Fabo member organisations have come together to organise an online event dedicated to remote monitoring and evaluation. This event aims to gather M&E practitioners and interested parties in an effort to explore new ways of working with M&E and to learn from past experiences. The event is free of charge and open to all staff from Fabo member organisations and their partner organisations.
